M: Mrs. Winfield, thank you very much for allowing me to visit your wonderful garden. It really helps me a lot to write an article on Dorset Gardens for our paper. Now I wonder if I could ask you a few questions.

M: Could you tell me when you became interested in gardening?

W: Well, I was always interested in wild flowers and then in 1980 I read Margery Fisher's book “College Garden Flowers”, which is full of practical advice and personal opinions. You must know that. I am often invited to give talks to biology students in colleges.

M: Yes, certainly. That's why I came here. Hmm…now what was your first garden like?

W: It was a very tiny piece of land, which came with my house in Harrow, West London.

M: Do you grow many plants yourself?

W: I don't grow many plants from seeds, but I have several friends; we often give each other plants. My garden is a place which reminds me of so many people through the plants they’ve given me.

MP3 are playing an important part in our daily life. A survey shows that three fifths of the students have MP3 players and more than half of them listen to loud music through earphones every day. They do this to relax and reduce the pressure of studying. They listen to music on MP3 players while having meals, taking part in outdoor activities or even doing their homework. However, medical studies show that the sound MP3 players make can damage their ears as much as that of a jet engine. So we must take action as soon as possible. We should turn down the volume and reduce the amount of time we spend listening to music on MP3 players. We can spend more time chatting with our friends instead of listening to MP3 players. In this way we can not only learn more from one another but also protect our ears. According to some experts, once we lose our hearing, it is very hard to recover. What a terrible fact!
