I am studying French, and it is a wonderful language. I find that it is a very clear and exact language, and beautiful to listen to. Did you know that there are twenty-nine countries where French is an official language? The French language is spoken by more than three hundred million people throughout the world, including the Americas, Africa, Asia, and in European countries like Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. Belgium, for example, has three official languages: Dutch, German, and French. From the seventeenth century to the middle of the twentieth century, French was the most important language used in international relations. Also, many English words are borrowed or influenced by French words, so people who speak or study English can learn a lot by studying French.
