Nowadays many people like eating in restaurants, but they always order too many dishes so that they can’t consume them. As the first picture shows, the two officials order more than 15 dishes, which can be enough for ten people. The table even isn’t large enough for the dishes, so one of the officials has to stand on the chair to reach some of the plates. Why did they order so many dishes? Because they needn’t use their own money but public money.

Besides the kind of the officials, some common people also like ordering too many dishes in the restaurants so as to show their generousness, especially in weddings, birthday ceremonies and so on. They think if guests consume all the dishes, they will have no face. Instead, if many dishes are left on the table, they are considered to be generous and rich. But all these behaviors lead to a big waste in food.

Facing so serious wasting problem, some measures must be taken to solve it. Firstly, the government must make some laws to forbid consuming by public money. Secondly, as common people, we should save food in our daily life, regardless at home or in restaurants. Thirdly, if we must go out for meals, we oughtn’t to order many dishes just enough. Last but not least, if we should order too many, please remember to bring the remaining food home.
