More and more buildings seem to be a necessary result of urbanization, because of which a large number of ancient trees are removed from where they used to grow.

As is vividly shown in the cartoon above, many ancient trees are out of our sight in the process of urban development. Many reasons contribute to the common phenomenon reflected by the cartoon. The process of urban needs a lot of land, which calls for cutting down or removing ancient trees to make more space. Besides, that a great deal of wood are demanded in the name of development also leads to many ancient trees being cut down. As we all know, if we continue it like this, we will suffer a lot. Not only will our city lose its character, we can’t enjoy fresh air any longer in the future.

The opinion I prefer is that we should protect the ancient trees. After all, they stand for a certain history in some city. It is the histories that remind us of what we are, where we come from, and how we develop. (153 words)
