I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never to let my passion stand in the way of being a good parent.

I no longer consider myself the center of the universe. I show up. I listen. I try to laugh.I am a good friend so my husband. I have tried to make marriage vows (誓言) mean what they say. I am a good friend to my friends, and they to me. Without them, there would be nothing to say to you today.

So here's what I want to tell you today: Get a life.A real life, not a desire of the next promotion, the bigger paycheck, the larger house.

Get a life in which you are not alone.Find people you love, and who love you.And remember that love is not leisure; it is work.Pick up the phone. Send an e-mail.W rite a letter. And realize that life is the best thing and that you have no business taking it for granted.

It's so easy to waste our lives, our days, our hours, and our minutes. It's so easy to exist instead of to live.learnt to live many years ago. Something really, really bad happened to me, something that changed my life in ways that, if I had my choice, it would never have been changed at all.And what I learned from it is what, today, seems to be the hardest lesson of all.

I learned to love the journey, not the destination.I learned to look at all the good in the world and try to give some of it back because I believed in it, completely and totally. And I tried to do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned.

By telling them this: Read in the backyard with the sun on your face. Learn to be happy. And think of life as a deadly illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion as it ought to be lived.

Looking back on my childhood, I am convinced that naturalists are born and not made. Although we were all brought up in the same way, my brothers and sisters soon abandoned their pressed flowers and insects.Unlike them, I had no ear for music and languages. I was not an early reader and I could not do mental arithmetic.

Before World War I we spent our summer holidays in Hungary. I have only the dim memory of the house we lived in, of my room and my toys. Nor do I recall clearly the large family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who gathered next door. But I do have a clear memory of the dogs, the farm animals, the local birds, and above all, the insects.

I am a naturalist, not a scientist. I have a strong love of the natural world and my enthusiasm led me into varied investigations. I love discussing my favorite topics and enjoy burning the midnight oil while reading about other people's observations and discoveries. Then something happens that brings these observations together in my conscious mind.

Suddenly you fancy you see the answer to the riddle, because it all seems to fit together. This has resulted in my publishing 300 papers and books, which some might honor with the title of scientific research.

But curiosity, a keen eye, a good memory and enjoyment of the animal and plant world do not make a scientist: one of the outstanding and essential qualities required is self- discipline, a quality I lack. A scientist requires not only self-discipline, but hard training, determination and a goal. A scientist, up to a certain point, can be made. A naturalist is born. If you can combine the two, you get the best of both worlds.

C.he was fully occupied with observing nature

B.the family was extremely large

D.he was too young when he lived with them

31.Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?
